How to use the Presentation Task Generator

The Presentation Task Generator creates a short, role-specific speaking task for any job interview. Our AI builds the task from the job title and the job description that you provide. You then download a ready PDF and use the task during your interview.

Who this tool is for

This tool is for two groups of people:

  • HR directors who want to give a ready interview task to their team.
  • Recruiters and department heads who run the interviews themselves.

Why this matters

Many manager roles need strong spoken English. The person must present ideas and answer unexpected questions in English.

If you do not test this skill during the interview, you may only discover the problem later. Poor spoken English at work can cause expensive misunderstandings between teams and clients.

The problem

A normal interview lasts only 20 to 30 minutes. You cannot spend half of that time on a presentation. You also need to hear about the candidate's past experience, because that matters too.

Writing a fair presentation task for every role also takes real time and effort.

How the Generator helps

The Presentation Task Generator solves both problems.

Our AI creates a task that fits into about three minutes of your interview. The task asks the candidate to describe a real experience from their working life that connects to the role. For example, the candidate may describe an important business meeting that they attended.

So you test two things at the same time. You hear the candidate's spoken English, and you learn about their past experience. This way, you do not waste interview time.

Certified language scientists at The Language Key designed the method behind each task. They have assessed business English for major employers for about 30 years.

How to use it

Screenshot for each step below
  1. Open the tool. Go to https://best.languagekey.com/best-labs/presentation-task-generator.

  2. Enter the job title. For example, type "Human Resources Manager".

  3. Add the job description. Paste the full job description into the box. The AI then creates topics that match the role more closely. This step is optional, but we strongly recommend it.

  4. Verify your email. Enter your work email address. We send a six-digit code to that address. Enter the code to continue. You do not need a password. We use this step to stop automated spam.

  5. Wait for the AI to create the topics. This usually takes a few seconds. Please keep the window open while the AI works. A long job description can take a little longer.

  6. Review the three topics. Check that the topics, the points, and the follow-up questions suit your role.

  7. Download the Interview Pack. Click the "Interview Pack" button to save the PDF.

Note: With one email address, you can create up to three tasks per day.

What is inside the Interview Pack

The Interview Pack is one PDF file with two pages.

Page one is for you, the interviewer. The page is titled "Assessor Script". It tells you what to read aloud to the candidate. It also lists the actions to take and the one follow-up question to ask after the candidate finishes.

Page two is for the candidate. It shows the three topics. The candidate reads all three topics and chooses one to speak about.

The whole task takes about three minutes. The candidate prepares for one minute, speaks for about one minute, and then answers one follow-up question.

What to do next

Now you have a presentation task that is built for the role. The next step is to score the candidate's spoken English.

You can do this with our free Presentation Grader. Go to https://best.languagekey.com/best-labs/presentation-grader.

The grader gives you a simple scoring guide with five points to rate. Any interviewer can use it. You do not need any training in language assessment.
